about
Silvercorn is an ongoing project born back in 1996 as little more than a name and a feeling. That feeling can best be described as an instinctive certainty that all living things have a full and colourful potential to unfold, given the right inspiration and nutrition. For most of us this process never ends. All too often we are pushed in directions not innately suited and convincingly instructed as to which aspects of the world will reap the greatest reward, as if our genes and needs were identical. Which they, of course, are not. Neither is our individual idea of ‘the greatest reward’.
While studying at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland back in the day I started taking a more serious interest in photography and exploring what can only be described as my creative forces – more precisely, within the sphere of audiovisuality. Today I continue to nurture my passion for what I find esthetic to my eyes and ears.
Like personal development, Silvercorn is a work in progress. More specifically, my work in progress. I find inspiration in a myriad of places; in the texture of a blade of grass, in the uninhibited laugh of child, in words, sound, in silence… and so on. Its everywhere really, as long as I’m open and focused. The camera is one of the tools I use to capture those inspirations.
